ASK US YOUR FLOORING QUESTIONS

Purchasing and caring for flooring is an important part of maintaining your home or business. Good information can help. Dirty carpets are embarrassing and can contribute to lower property values and an unhealthy environment. We hope that these common questions about carpeting and laminate flooring will help when it's time to make decisions about your flooring services. And when you're ready for cleaner carpets, new laminate flooring and/or carpeting we hope you'll call GCS Flooring Company.

Why should homeowners choose a professional when treating their floors?

That's a great question. Here's our take: Why choose a professional??

In addition to quality equip and cleaning agents, professional carpet cleaning companies also have access to on-going training and expertise from local vendors. This training is extremely important during treatment as it is a complicated process. We don’t just have the best carpet cleaning equipment and products, but we know how to use them correctly. Do-it-yourself carpet cleaners have a tendency to either put down too much cleaning agents or too much water, both of which can cause major problems. Leaving behind soap residue will cause carpeting to re-soil at a much faster rate, leaving them sticky or crunchy. Leaving too much water on the floor can damage your flooring or even foster the growth of molds.

How do you Clean Tile and Grout?

Clean Tile & Grout looks great when it's clean! Here's how we do it: How to Clean Tile & Grout?

We start with spraying the tile face and grout lines with an emulsifier that breaks down dirt, grease, grime etc and we let it dwell for 10 minutes or so. We then scrub the grout lines with a stainless steel brush head to loosen those tough stains and dirt. After that we will break out our tile spinner, which in itself is a self contained power washer. This machine sprays, scrubs and sucks the dirty water from the tile and grout all simultaneously. Water is 230 degrees and sprays the face of your tile and grout lines at 1100 psi. After this process is completed we recommend that you seal your grout, this prevents future spills, dirt, food particles etc from sinking into your grout. Grout is nothing more than compressed sand so it’s very porous and takes on dirt and grease easily if not sealed. Call Us for a free quote!

What is wood laminate flooring?

Wood laminate Flooring is a great value! Here's why: What is Wood Laminate Flooring?

Wood laminate flooring is a floating floor. What does that mean? It simply means it is not attached to the sub-floor by glue, nails, screws etc. It’s a synthetic flooring product fused together by a lamination process. It’s designed to look like wood or stone using a photographic applique layer under a clear protective coating for beauty and durability. Wood laminate allows a customer to get a great looking floor for a fraction of the cost of real wood or tile, and comes with great warranties for peace of mind while adding value and beauty to your home!

Why is my carpet Rippled/Bunched Up? Can it be Fixed?

It probably just needs stretched. Here's why & how: Why is my carpet rippled?

Usually when carpeting gets bunched up or rippled, it just needs stretched. Carpet stretching is a common repair and most of the time is nothing to panic about. Common causes include, heavy foot traffic, moving/sliding heavy furniture, exposure to extreme heat/moisture, or improper installation from day 1. Properly trained flooring technicians will have the correct tools such as power stretcher, slotted blade knife, awl, industrial staple gun and a knee stretcher to finish the job. Every floor/carpet is different, and at times excess carpet must me cut off and new seams installed to complete the repairs.

BEST IN THE BUSINESS!

"I am a General Contractor and an Investor, I have been using GCS to clean carpets and tile in my flip homes and in my clients homes as well. I have used other companies in the past and have never been thrilled with the service or work I have received from them. Brian and his crew are true professionals and have time and time again brought worn and ugly carpets and tile back to life! I have challenged GCS on a few occasions knowing full well that the carpets or grout I have presented them to clean would never be brought back to acceptable standards and every time they have not only proved me wrong but made the surfaces look brand new! GCS is the ONLY call you should ever make for your carpet and tile cleaning needs period! Take it from someone who has been removing worn out and ugly flooring for over twenty years and before you make a costly mistake give GCS a call and let them work their magic, your flooring but most importantly your wallet will thank you for it.”

- Anthony Courts

GREAT JOB!

"Fast, friendly and professional. Even steamed my throw pillows at no extra charge. Highly recommend and will be using again.”
